Contecon Guayaquil SA (CGSA), manager and operator of Guayaquil Multipurpose & Container Terminal (GMCT), recently became the first Latin American container port to be ISO certified after the company received four ISO certifications.

Bureau Veritas of Ecuador awarded the four certifications - ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 28000 (Supply Chain Security Management Systems) - following a series of audits of all CGSA departments.

CGSA is a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI), a port management company involved in the operations and development of nineteen marine terminals and port projects in thirteen countries around the world.
