The Houston Port Commission has awarded a $1.2 million construction contract to Texas Technical Services Inc. (TTS) for a security system at Bayport's container terminal.

TTS will install access control card readers and security cameras that will work with existing Port Authority equipment to connect to the Port Authority's security command centre.

According to the port, the security improvements will help maintain controlled access and surveillance for the three newly-constructed buildings and container yard at Bayport terminal.
